Yesterday we had amazing day at Rio Verde – close to Almuñecar, canyoning with a group of 11 english bachelors that have come to Marbella to pay tribute to their mate getting married soon. After a rough initial start due to the lack of sleep in the previous night the boys picked up the pace and surprised us with their agility and abilty to recover fast

As you can see from the pictures everybody had a great day out in the river:

It should give you peace of mind that our main guide Alejandro Macias is one of the top professionals when it comes to mountain guides and beside being the andalucian champion in Canyoning also imparts courses to teach mountain guides the proper techniques of how to safely guide a group of clients down a riverbed. Although the sport is fairly safe it is very important to always be accompanied by a certified guide that oversees the group and is experienced in handling the ropes that are very necessary for the abseiling techniques.

Last weekend Alejandro and Tito imparted the two day canyoning course at the TECO School in Mijas with students that are being educated to be mountain guides. Some of the subjects covered were:

How to behave in the riverbed in hazard situations with clients

Practical training in the Rio Verde river in real life situations

Last weekend we went for another canyoning adventure in the beautiful river of Rio Verde close to OTIVAR – Almuñecar. In this occasion the ladies outnumbered the gentlemen for a change which contributed to some of the best pictures we have taken so far on one of our favorite excursions. The ninja girls and the danish boys combated the canyon like true champions.
