Diciembre 19th, 2011 No Comments »

During my trip to the US a few weeks ago my former wrestling team mate Chris Simmons recommended this movie to me. It is a documentary about Jon Trenge, one of the best Division One college wrestlers competing for Lehighand how he overcomes adversity when doctors tell him he can¨t compete anymore because he could loose his vision otherwise. A truly inspiringn story that gives you a very good impression of the intensity of the sport.

Just wanted to share this inspiring news with you since I have been really touched and amazed by it, especially knowing the level of intensity the tournament has ( I competed there myself twice in 1996 and 1998). Anthony Robles managed to win the national college championships (NCAA) in wrestling last weekend at 125 lbs competing with one leg. That is just a proof of the power of the human mind and the things that you can achieve with the right mindset. Anthony managed to change something that most people would classify as a major weakness into a strength and adapted his wrestling style to fit his body type.
